Each
of us has that right, that possibility, to invent ourselves
daily. If a person does not invent herself or himself, she
or he will be invented. So, to be bodacious enough to invent
ourselves is wise.

Here are 6 practical steps you can implement TODAY to begin to experience the transforming power of setting intentions. This is how I start my day with intention.
Introduction: Is This You?
Would you like to experience a greater sense of mastery in your life?
Have
you read books on setting goals and creating the life you
want, yet find it daunting to put these concepts into action? It can seem overwhelming to implement a whole new approach
to life amid your many responsibilities.
Try this simple,
powerful practice. You can begin developing greater mastery
right away; it’s that easy.
Step 1 - Clear
Your Vision
Before you get out of bed, take some time to
consciously create your day. Identify how you would like your
day to unfold instead of anticipating and rehearsing what
you don’t want to experience.
How it works:
I suggest starting your day by identifying a word or phrase
that captures the feeling or quality you would like to embody
and experience throughout the day. It could be that you would
like to experience peace of mind, or being in the flow of
Divine Purpose, or to feel that you are loved and accepted.
Step 2 - Confirm
Your Destination
To keep your focus on your vision, create a
short affirmation for yourself that you can repeat throughout
the day. Let's say your first thought when you wake up is, "Oh no, I have so much to do today, I don't know how
I can get it all done".
How it works: Immediately counter that with, “There is a Divine Power
in me that knows exactly what to do and how to do it and I
am using that power now …YES! This affirmation will
build your confidence in making decisions and taking action
toward your goals.
Step 3 - Take a
Risk
Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “Do one
thing everyday which scares you”. This is sound advice.
How
it works: Identify one action you can take today to
move yourself forward. It doesn’t matter if it’s
a baby step or a big step. In fact, I suggest starting with
a baby step so that you can build a pattern of taking action
and honoring your commitment to yourself. Focus on making
just one of the phone calls you’ve been avoiding. Accomplish
that one thing today and you will feel less overwhelmed today
and tomorrow.
Step 4 - Make
a Commitment
When you follow through with commitments made
to yourself and affirm your goals, you send a message back
to yourself that your goals and dreams matter and that you
have value and worth. Amazing things can and do happen as
a result. We start to experience “coincidences” like running into someone who provides the answer to a question
or turns out to be that much needed resource.
Here's an example of how this works: I had a client who wanted
to go back to school to complete her degree. She was disappointed
in herself because she hadn’t taken any action toward
her goal. I helped her stop beating herself up about it and
suggested that she affirm her vision by declaring herself
to be a college graduate. When she let go of self-criticism
and kept her eye on the prize instead, she ran into a dear
friend she had lost touch with. This friend had recently gone
back to school and was eager to share the steps she took.
Step 5 - Expect
the Unexpected
Stay open to outcomes and results that differ
from what you have experienced before. Instead of expecting
the worst and anticipating a struggle, expect the best and
accept that there is a way for you to achieve the desired
result with grace and ease.
How it works:
Do this by staying present to what you affirmed at the start
of your day. Regardless of your feelings or what appears to
be happening, claim your vision and re-confirm your desired
destination by re-affirming the peace, divine guidance or
self worth you affirmed. Then remember to take one risk, no
matter how small, toward your goal.
Step 6 - Declare
Gratitude and Success
In the evening, take a few moments to reflect
on what happened throughout the day. Acknowledge your gratitude
and declare the day a success.
How it works:
Find three things to be grateful for and three success from
your day. Commit to this practice even if you have to really
stretch to come up with three each. It may be hard at first,
but if you keep doing this your list will expand and your
awareness of good will deepen, and the daily demonstrations
will become more significant over time. I guarantee it!
Conclusion: 21 Days To Live a Life You Love

these simple, powerful steps every day without fail for 21

of intention setting, supplying yourself with the confidence
and fortitude to live the life you were born to live.
